Is that possible?

Yes, it is possible. The new Canon PowerShot SD4000IS Digital ELPH compact camera can do that all for you. And even something more.

Shooting low light scenes without a flash? With Canon PowerShot SD4000IS it is possible!

If you have been trying to take pictures of dimly lit scenes, you know it usually is pretty challenging. If you have a SLR camera and a truckload of equipment, including tripods un image stabilised lenses, it might be easy. But we are discussing compact cameras here, so additional accessories are out of question. And out of budget.

Then you could use a built-in flash. But flash often is not allowed, or, if allowed, causes unwanted optical effects. Should we give up?

No!

For this type of situations Canon has developed its new HS System bringing together sensitive 10.0 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor. The Canon HS System provides amazing low light performance with reduced noise level, and several additional shooting modes, for example, high-speed shooting.

Now you can capture scenes lit by fire, street lamps, or candles without losing visual accuracy and clarity. And with very little noise, even with high ISO settings. Thanks to DIGIC 4 Image Processor and Canon’s famous Image Stabilizer (IS) feature.

Another trick in Canon’s sleeve is the new f/2.0 wide angle lens. This lens has a wide maximum aperture – the larger the aperture, the more light falls on the sensor, the better picture in low light conditions.

Large aperture also means more control over depth of field which means more enticing portraits and macro shots.

HS System – it is also High Speed

You can use Canon PowerShot SD4000IS Digital ELPH to capture high speed videos or use burst mode to take pictures.

SD4000 IS camera has Super Slow Motion Movie recording mode. In this mode the camera captures 240 frames per second. That is right – 240 fps! It is 10x the ‘normal’ recording speed!

Then there is the High-Speed Burst mode.  You simply hold down the shutter. And the camera continuously shoots at high speed – almost 4 shots per second at 10MP, or 8.4 shots per second at 2.5MP resolution. For how long?  Until your memory card is full and can not take any more images!

This mode is suited for shooting sporting events, children, animals and situations where unpredictable movements are expected.

Shoot HD, watch HD

With PowerShot SD4000 IS Digital ELPH camera you can record movies in 720p (1280 x 720) high definition with high quality stereo sound. Canon knows you will want to watch your movies on big screen, so PowerShot SD4000IS features integrated HDMI port for connecting the camera directly to your HDTV.
